|Just a dreamer who see beauty everywhere|
Breathing in our Bird CageSometimes I forget all I've been through,Breathing in our Bird Cage by Squidgeroonio
Why you could so easily break my heart,
Sometimes I dream about the nightmares,
Demons that could tear us apart.
Sometimes I watch you in silence,
Washing the shadows from my mind.
As you open to my soul, and take a step through
A million beady-eyed demons are waiting for you,
They grimace as your footprints re-create a path
One they've spent time breaking
O'weary warrior continue forth,
The relief I feel is consuming
Driving, twisting, falling, feeling
Move with me, be my healing.
You stand before the cage, watch as I sit and swing
Not a bird or feather about, only a girl to be seen
Rags of many colours, and a song to strike away the doom,
The cage is my freedom, don't believe it's my tomb.
Cautiously, you step forward and you open a hand,
But instead of letting you free me, I give you a tug
You tumble into my bird cage, and I give the door a lock
Now we wrap together in a toe-tingling embrace,
And laugh at the shock that befalls each demonic
Dirty LooksDon't cellophane the rosesDirty Looks by BloodshotInk
they can't breathe under your denial of their needs.
They can't be watered down to nothingness
by the will of your want for them not to be -
don't wrap them up, packaged neatly
the way that would would like them;
that's not how things grow or bloom.
They can't flourish without their roots, let them feel them!
Let them have them! Let them remain grounded
and unafraid of your storm or governance.
Don't cellophane the roses
with tidy little labels to explain their 'mutations'.
Don't tell children not to touch them if they have
more thorns than usual, brighter petals, less fragrance -
don't corner them and cube them into segregation
so they remain separate from the wildflowers
that you happily let trail all over - no!
Don't cellophane the roses
just because you've never seen them before.
